Discovery Cove opens up a world
for the family, in which you can experience water life in a
way you have never been able to before. Here you will swim and
play with dolphins, wade amongst rays and snorkel amongst the
amazing colours from shoals of tropical fish. Within the
safety of viewing booths, come face-to-face with more
dangerous creatures like sharks and barracuda! See the
beautiful waterfall amongst flocks of multicoloured exotic
birds, providing an amazing natural scene in which to spend a
relaxing day. Opened in July 2000, Discovery Cove is a
day of tropical adventure which is guaranteed to give you
memories to last a lifetime!
Discovery Cove is a diverse theme
park, offering a range of activities for all the family. In
Dolphin Lagoon, you can experience a relaxing and
enjoyable day amongst these beautiful graceful creatures. A
greatly-enjoyed activity, touching and swimming with dolphins
allows you to interact with these playful animals more so than
other water-based creatures. Dolphins interact very well with
humans and as you swim around the deep-water lagoon you are
sure to be accompanied by these friendly creatures, surrounded
by the golden sandy beaches and tropical landscape. Discovery
Cove guests may also learn about dolphins’ behaviour and get
to know them in more depth. Here you will encounter various
other creatures in a breath-takingly scenic tropical setting
without the business and queues of other theme parks.
For those who enjoy snorkeling,
Coral Reef is the area to go to. Dive into the waters in
Coral Reef to swim amongst the shoals of colourful tropical
fish and see just how many different species of fish there
are. In Discovery Cove’s Coral Reef, there are butterfly fish
and Angelfish, not to mention black-and-white spadefish and
silvery jacks. Discovery Cove have more than 75 other species.
People swimming in the reef will be coming within inches of
dangerous sharks and barracuda, however there are clear
barriers keeping all swimmers safe.
Discovery Cove tickets also gain
access to Ray Lagoon which is an enclosed peaceful area
of water. Here visitors snorkel, wade and play amongst
hundreds of cownose and southern rays. These amazing animals
are gentle flat creatures that can grow up to an astonishing 4
feet in diameter. The
Tropical River is another fascinating part of Discovery
Cove. The river winds its way throughout the various
landscapes of the theme park. Along the river, you will
encounter a tropical rainforest, waterfalls, an island beach,
an underwater cave, golden beaches and rocky lagoons. The huge
free-flight Aviary houses tactile tropical birds and
they surround visitors to this area of Discovery Cove. In this
lush environment, guests can feed, touch and walk through
hundreds of colorful birds and other amazing animals.
