We reported a while ago on this blog that Malaga is now one of The Guardian’s (UK newspaper) top 40 places in the world to visit in 2015 and that the Spanish city is also in Daily Telegraph’s Top Ten Spanish Cultural Destinations, attracting many more visitors in the last ten years.
Certainly, Malaga is becoming a fashionable place after many years of being in the shadow of the Costa del Sol itself, in particular Marbella and Puerto Banus. The recent opening of Caminito del Rey has helped massively with a waiting list of people wanting to take this exciting walk. In addition Malaga´s museums are attracting record numbers of visitors looking for culture rather than a sun tan!
As a brand, Malaga and the tourist board are looking at ways to further improve the status of the city and bring many more visitors to the area. Malaga has so much to offer in terms of culture, history, weather and food and drink, not to mention wonderful beaches.
So now, there are more reasons to visit the Costa del Sol for your valued holiday. Malaga is a year round destination with the best weather on mainland Europe.
