News just in from our car rental partner Helle Hollis is a little alarming, so now is the time to book your Costa del Sol rental car for the summer before the shortage and inevitable increase in prices. There is a link to their site from our Robert Sas Villa Rentals home page.
This is what Helle Hollis had to say:
We are now out of the first quarter of 2013, and have Easter behind us. From the statistics we can see that Helle Hollis has registered about 1/3 – exactly 240 – of all new cars that were registered throughout Andalucia. It is an extremely high percentage compared to previous years, not because we have increased the fleet, but because our competitors have registered less new cars, significantly less.
And the reason is obvious – it is not because they want to reduce fleets – but because of the poor economic situation in Spain in general and the banking sector, in particular, where it has been difficult to find financing for the purchase of new cars.
This means that this summer there will be a shortage of car hire in Malaga – and we all know what that means. Prices will increase like crazy. Just think back to the summer of 2009 when a group B car cost up to 400 € for a week.
Today you can book a group B e.g. Week of 7 – 14 July for only 170 € including “early bird” and Home Owners club discount.
If you know your dates, get booking now. We are NOT going to see the “last minute” offers in July 2013. On the contrary, the price will increase from now on!
