We recently visited the city of Malaga, which in may respects is a world away from the beaches normally associated with the city. Although there are several wonderful beaches in Malaga itself, the city is also a cultural center with an ancient castle to visit, a Roman theater, museums including the Pablo Picasso museum – Picasso was born and lived in Malaga, fine shopping and much more.
The port of Malaga is a buzzing, working port with many fine restaurants, all worth visiting but we ate at one which served excellent Paella! The city of Malaga is much bigger than you would expect and a world away from the famous beach holiday destinations less than 25 minutes drive from the city.
The city of Malaga is the jewel in the crown of the Costa del Sol and one we thoroughly recommend you take a day to visit! We feel you will be very surprised!
