When staying on the beautiful Costa del Sol, we recommend that you take a trip to the historic rock of Gibraltar. It is only a one hour drive from Marbella! There is so much to see and do! When you cross the boarder from Spain into Gibraltar, the first thing you have to do is cross the runway used by commercial and air force aircraft.
There is a high street where all the well known brand names have shops, there are some wonderful pubs, and there is also VAT free shopping! You can even pay for your purchases in Sterling… Its a little bit of Britain located next to Spain!
Take the cable car to the top of the rock where you will be welcomed by the Barbary apes and have some of the most stunning views anywhere! It is a “must do”!
We visit Gibraltar several times a year and recommend it highly. Don’t forget to take your passport, as you cross into another country!
