Here we are on October 17 and visitor levels are quite visibly still high with lots of tourists still on the beaches, shopping areas and markets of the Costa del Sol.
This tells us a few things…… The Costa del Sol is one of the biggest hot spots of Europe right now, with the weather still fantastic. Those of us living here are still wearing shorts! With flights to and from Malaga Airport reported to be full it also tells us this the Costa del Sol is the “go to place” not just during the summer but during the cooler months. With visitor numbers still high it tells us that people love to come to visit this area.
With that in mind, its worth knowing that a Christmas spent in Spain is wonderful! With a warmer climate, even if it does rains occassionally, it is much warmer than anywhere else in mainland Europe. Even the rain is warm! New Years Eve and New Years Day are almost always extremely warm and sunny with us at Robert Sas Villa Rentals spending the afternoon on the beach, followed by an evening BBQ. If you have extra time to stay, January 6 is the day of the Three Kings where traditionally the Three Kings give gifts to the children and is a day the Spanish take very seriously with parades in each town where sweets are thrown to the thronging crowds.
